Prof. Dr. Füsun Acartürk is head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Faculty of Pharmacy, Gazi University, Turkey. She has nearly 44 years of experience in pharmaceutical area. Dr. Acartürk graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Pharmacy in 1978. She received her PhD degree at the same university in 1985. She had four years of industry experience at FAKO Pharmaceuticals from 1985 to 1989. She has been working at Gazi University, Faculty of Pharmacy since 1990. She performed her post- doctoral studies in Department of Pharmaceutics, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kumamoto University, Kumamoto-JAPAN (September 1989- March 1990) with Prof. Dr. Masaki Otagiri and in Department of Pharmaceutics, School of Pharmacy, University of Wisconsin, Madison-USA, (February 1995-December 1995) with Prof. J.R. Robinson. She is an author or co-author of 95 original research/review papers in the national /international journals, 10 book chapters and 4 patents. She has supervised MSc and PhDs, 25 postgraduate students. Her current interest lies in electrospinning, nanofibers, 3D printing for drug delivery, biotechnological products, colonic and vaginal drug delivery, mucoadhesive drug delivery systems and wound healing.
